On March 2nd my 11 month old daughter woke up with a fever that progressed to almost 105 degrees not even 30 minutes later she started throwing up about every 20 minutes so we rushed her to urgent care where they gave her amoxicillin for an ear infection. She was completely lethargic and running a temperature for 4 more days and on the 5th day, her doctor put in an order for bloodwork. As soon as she got the results we got a call telling us that we should go to the Children’s Hospital ASAP because her inflammatory levels were concerningly high.

After a week of numerous tests, blood draws, ultrasounds of her abdomen and heart and a full body MRI doctors were still not 100% sure on what was causing her fevers and severe inflammation levels that just kept getting worse. Their best guess was to treat her for incomplete Kawasaki‘s disease even though she wasn’t showing all the major symptoms. Following the IVIG treatment her levels have started going back to normal with the exception of her crp which was still showing inflammation.

They decided it was safe to send us home and have blood drawn again in a couple days and a follow up visit with the Kawasaki‘s disease clinic at the hospital in another two weeks to be sure the treatment is working.

Our family has been through some financial and emotional hardships the last few months and any help to go towards Alayna’s medical bills would be a huge blessing and make all the difference for our family.
