Hi everyone!

As many of you know, I’ve been volunteering at a school in Arusha, Tanzania and it’s been the most heartwarming and eye-opening experience of my life. I’ve been lucky enough to truly immerse myself in the beautiful culture here, from learning to speak Swahili, getting around on the wild (and slightly scary) public transport, to bargaining my way through the local markets!

I’m working with around 50 little ones, aged 1.5 to 5 years old. Each one of them is an absolute light, full of joy, curiosity, and intelligence. Their smiles are constant, their hearts are pure, and their potential is limitless. Every day, they walk to school on their own or with friends, many easily walk a mile or two, and they all proudly wear their tiny backpacks. They spend 4–5 hours in class learning both English and Swahili

After class, they receive a cup of porridge, for most of them, this is the only meal they’ll have that day.

Right now, the school is under renovation as they work to build more rooms upstairs. In the meantime, resources are limited. Many of the kids wear the same clothes each day, and only a few have proper school uniforms. For playtime, they use bottle caps, sticks, my hair lol, or whatever else they can find, and yet, they are always laughing and playing with endless imagination

This is where I would love to ask for your help.

I’m hoping to raise some funds to purchase much-needed resources; educational tools, classroom supplies, and toys to help these children grow, learn, and simply enjoy being kids. Uniforms are also a big goal, I’d love to make sure every child feels proud and included.

Even the smallest donation can go such a long way!

Because of the currency difference, even just $5 USD can buy a classroom set of crayons or notebooks. $10 can buy toys or a few uniform pieces. It may feel like a small amount back home, but here in Tanzania, it can mean the world to a child.
