**Update on Alanna’s Recovery Journey**
Alanna’s support network in Petaluma has also created a meal train for her and her kiddos. Check it out at the link below. Meals and/or donations are welcomed and very much appreciated.
Alanna has now met with multiple surgeons and specialists and has a clearer understanding of the next steps in her treatment:
- **Physical Therapy**: The first step is to begin intensive physical therapy aimed at regaining mobility in her knee—a challenging and often painful process needing to happen in order to be well enough for surgery.
- **Surgery**: After approximately 6-8 weeks of physical therapy, Alanna will undergo surgery. The exact number of operations required won’t be determined until her surgeon can assess the damage internally.
- **Chronic Pain & Nerve Damage**: Alanna continues to live with chronic pain and has also been diagnosed with severe nerve damage. She will be starting treatment with a specialist to address these complications, which could affect her ability to walk.
Your donations have been invaluable and are helping Alanna navigate this complex and difficult journey. Every contribution provides critical support during her recovery.
Thank you for being part of her journey. ❤️

Many of you have had the privilege of knowing Alanna, but for those who haven’t, let me share just a little about this remarkable woman. Alanna truly is one of a kind—a selfless soul with a heart of gold. She’s the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back or the last item of food in her cupboard without hesitation.
Alanna has long been a dedicated member of her community, consistently volunteering her time to create safer spaces and help those in need. She currently works for a nonprofit organization in California that focuses on violence prevention and social justice—causes she deeply cares about. But above all, Alanna is a devoted mother to two incredible cool children, Fionnah and Hudson.
Originally from Canada, Alanna now calls Petaluma, California, home. She’s also in the midst of the complex immigration process to gain U.S. citizenship—yet another hurdle she’s bravely facing.
Over the winter holidays, Alanna had a very unfortunate accident where she damaged her entire left knee, including a complete tear of the ACL, tears in the LCL and 2nd degree sprain to the MCL, along with other injuries causing mobility issues and extreme discomfort.
Alanna is only able to manage day to day tasks with the assistance from others. The challenges she’s facing due to her injuries have made it incredibly difficult for her to be the hands-on mom she’s always been, especially with one of her children having special needs.
Alanna will be enduring surgery (possibly multiple surgeries) in hopes of repairing the damage in the coming months. The recovery time from something like this is lengthy and will affect many aspects of life afterwards.
Due to all of this, the strain on Alanna and her children is real. Even with medical insurance the bills have begun to pile up—with the potential that her medical coverage could be canceled in the coming months due to familial status.
Alanna has touched so many lives with her kindness and unwavering commitment to others. Now, it's our turn to show her the same support and compassion as she navigates this challenging journey. Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly to helping her and her family during this difficult time.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Alanna and her family, and for considering supporting her in any way you can.
Donations are being accepted to help alleviate some of the financial burdens caused by medical and living expenses.
Due to her injury, Alanna is unable to live in her home or drive, which has added to the strain on her family. Your support means the world during this challenging time.
