At just 36 weeks pregnant, Alana developed eclampsia, a life-threatening condition that caused a sudden seizure. During the seizure, she fell out of bed, fracturing her pelvis in two places and damaging  her tongue. Doctors rushed her into an emergency C-section to save her baby’s life.

Alana faces an incredibly difficult recovery. With very limited mobility, she now relies on a walker and wheelchair to get around & recently had a ramp installed at her home.. On top of this, she cannot be left alone with her newborn because of the risk of more seizures.

Unfortunately insurance does not cover the cost of a nurse or an aide, which she so desperately needs right now to help with the daily care for herself and her baby. Alana is in urgent need of help during this heartbreaking time. She will need many months of recovery time.
