Our La Jolla Concours community has lost someone truly special. On December 24, 2025, Sharon Taylor passed away after a long and courageous journey with illness. Throughout it all, Sharon faced each day with grace, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her husband, Alan, and their family.
For decades, Alan Taylor has been an irreplaceable part of the La Jolla Concours d’Elegance. Many of you know him as the founder of Alan Taylor Restores, and as the master craftsman behind the beautiful trophies that grace the Concours lawn each year - including Best in Show and many of our most meaningful special awards. His work is woven into the very fabric of this event. But equally unforgettable was Sharon. She was always by Alan’s side - whether supporting him during trophy displays on the lawn or simply being present at events, offering encouragement, pride, and warmth. Sharon was a quiet but constant presence within our community, remembered for her kindness, her gentleness, and her steadfast devotion to Alan and his work.
Before her passing, Sharon shared one wish with her husband: that she be laid to rest through burial rather than cremation. Alan honored that promise without hesitation. In doing so, he has taken on significant and unexpected expenses during an already profoundly difficult time. This GoFundMe has been created to support one of our own. If the cars, the trophies, the lawn, and the spirit of the La Jolla Concours have ever meant something to you, we invite you to consider helping Alan now. Your contribution - in any amount - will help ease the financial strain and allow him the space to grieve, reflect, and heal without added worry.
This is an opportunity for our automotive and concours community to come together with the same care, respect, and generosity that Alan and Sharon have shown for so many years. Thank you for supporting Alan. Thank you for honoring Sharon. And thank you for reminding us that this community is about far more than cars - it is about people.
