The Alameda Outdoor Learning Space was inspired by a simple idea: children learn best when they can explore and connect with nature. Over the past year, our students, volunteers, and community partners have worked together to create spaces where Pre-K through 5th grade students can learn about science, gardening, pollinators, and environmental stewardship through hands-on activities.
Creating a pollinator garden allows our students to observe bees, butterflies, and native plants while learning how these important species support our ecosystem and food systems. Completing the pollinator garden will give our students a living outdoor classroom where they can observe pollinators up close, support hands-on science lessons about ecosystems, biodiversity, and food systems, and enjoy a peaceful space to connect with nature and develop environmental stewardship.
We invite you to help us finish this special space for our students. With your support, we can purchase the final materials needed to complete the pollinator garden and give our children a place where learning, nature, and community come together. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us give our students a place to explore, learn, and grow in nature.
