My 17-year-old niece Akshaya, is currently battling a life-threatening lung condition. What started as a sudden medical emergency turned into a nightmare we never imagined. It has been 56 days since she has been in the ICU, supported by ECMO (lung life support) a machine that is keeping her alive while her lungs struggle to heal.

Akshaya is young, brave, and fighting every moment. Despite being critically ill, she is conscious, responsive, and trying her best to breathe on her own. Doctors say she is stable but fragile, and the coming days are extremely crucial. There is still hope that her own lungs may recover, but the treatment is long, complex, and extremely expensive.

So far, we have already spent ₹90+ lakhs on emergency ICU care, ECMO support, medicines, blood products, and investigations. The costs continue to rise every single day. As a family, we have exhausted our savings and resources. We are now at a point where we cannot continue without help.

As a family member, there is nothing more painful than watching your child fight for breath and feeling helpless because of money. Akshaya has her entire life ahead of her dreams, education, a future she deserves to live.
