# A Plea for Help: Supporting My Cousin's Battle with Leukemia

In the vibrant and lively heart of the Dominican Republic, my cousin, Akisch (Kiki to some), a spirited and loving young man, is facing a battle that no one should have to endure. Days before his 40th birthday in early May, he was diagnosed with LEUKEMIA, Kiki’s life has been turned upside down, and our family is reaching out for help in this time of need.

Kiki has always been the kind of person who lights up a room with his infectious laughter and warm smile.

Leukemia is an unforgiving disease that requires intensive treatment, and the costs associated with such care are overwhelming. Despite the tireless efforts of our family, the financial burden has become insurmountable. In the Dominican Republic, where access to medical resources can be limited, every contribution can make a significant difference in Kiki’s journey towards recovery.
