As Salaamu 'Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh!

May the Peace, Mercy, and Blessings of Allah be upon you!

Ramadan Mubarak and Ramadan Kareem!

Can you please support my journey to learn the Qur'an by donating $5, $25, or $50?

My name is Akilah and I am 34 years old, Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah)!

I am also a wife of a hard-working husband and a stay-at-home mother of 3 daughters (ages 5, 2.5, and 11 months), Masha'Allah and Allahumma barik (Allah has willed it and may Allah bless them)!

I reverted to Islam last year after burning out as a newlywed wife, postpartum mother, new naturopathic physician specializing in anxiety and depression, and first-time entrepreneur, Astaghfirullah (I seek forgiveness in Allah)!

It's been 2 years since I closed my practice, started seeing a therapist, dissolved my business, deleted my social media, and began focusing on my own mental, physical, and spiritual health, Bi'ithnillah (with Allah's permission)!

Through patience, prayer, self-reflection, and introspection, I have learned so much about myself and I am striving to purify my heart and perfect my character because as Surah Ar-Rad 13:11 says:

"Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves."

And Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I have been sent to perfect good character.”

Source: al-Muwaṭṭa’ 1614
Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Ibn Abdul Barr

I accept accountability and responsibility for my circumstances, including my $163,313.47 of medical school loan debt, which I recently learned is haram due to riba, Atubu ilayhi (I turn to Him in repentance)!

I do not despair of Allah's mercy, and I have certain faith that He will forgive me and make a way out for me as long I surrender and submit to His will and plan for my life, Qadr Allah (Allah has already decreed)!

I am grateful to Allah for guiding me to Islam, and I strongly desire to read and understand the Qur’an, ponder and reflect over its wisdom, apply the guidance to my life, set an example for my children, and recite it on Judgment Day, Fi'sabilillah (for the sake of Allah)!

I just found a female Egyptian Quran teacher who is ready to teach me, starting from the Arabic alphabet all the way to advanced Qur'an recitation, Insha'Allah (if Allah wills)!

Even though she is a divorced single mother who is also trying to make a living for her family, she is still willing to accept whatever I can afford to pay at this time, Allah yuqadim (may Allah provide)!

She charges 10 pounds or $12.63 USD per session and recommends that I complete at least 20 accelerated sessions within 3 months, BarakAllah fiha (may Allah bless her)!

So for the 20 sessions, I need at least $252.60 plus 3% transfer fees to and from, which is $252.60 + $15.16 = $267.76 Allah yashil (may Allah make it easy)!

I really want to pay her the full value of her service (in fact, I wish to pay her a little more than what she asked for) and not force her to take a discount or use an interest-based credit card, A'uthubillah (I seek protection in Allah)!

I also need these books and resources:
✅ Al-Qaidah An-Noraniah ($11.49)
✅ 80% of Quranic Words ($5.00)
✅ Mushaf Medinah Al-Quran Al-Kareem ($40.95)
✅ Word-by-word Translation & Tajweed ($43.94)
✅ Wooden Qur'an holder stand ($14.43)
✅ Quran Trace ($96.55)

With shipping charges and taxes, these cost a total of $233.81.

Adding this to the cost of 20 sessions brings the grand total up to $267.76 + $233.81 = $501.57

As the prices and discounts of items fluctuate, I would just round everything up to $510 to be on the safe side. :)

***So, can you please help me to get started with my Qur'an journey by donating $5, $25, or $50?***

And if you cannot donate at this time, can you at least share this post with someone you know who can?

I would really appreciate it!

Allahumma barik! May Allah bless you!

JazakAllahu khair and may Allah reward you 10-fold! Ameen!

Surah Al-An'am 6:160
“Whoever comes with a good deed will be rewarded tenfold. But whoever comes with a bad deed will be punished for only one. None will be wronged.”
