Support Akashkumar Purohit's young family

Hi

My name is Anjali Karia and I am fundraising to help Akash Purohit's young family.

On June 12th, our world was shaken by the tragic Air India AI171 crash — a catastrophe that took away many innocent lives. Among them was Akash Purohit, a 24-year-old young man with a heart full of dreams and a life full of promise.

Akash was more than just a name on that flight manifest — he was a loving husband, the only son of devoted parents, and a pillar of support for his young family. He had moved to the UK just two years ago, not for his own gain, but to stand beside his wife while she pursued her education and career. He worked hard, quietly and selflessly, building a life together with her, one filled with shared hopes and unwavering support.

In early June, Akash flew back to India to visit his unwell father and support his family as they prepared for the upcoming wedding of his younger sister in November — a joyful event they were all looking forward to. But tragically, while returning to the UK, he boarded flight AI171... and never came home.

Akash was the kind of person who always put others first — a son any parent would be proud of, and a husband any partner would be lucky to have. But now, in a cruel twist of fate, that future has been stolen from his family forever.

Today, his young wife is left widowed, and his parents have lost their only son. Beyond the unbearable emotional pain, they now face financial and legal challenges that no family should ever have to endure — living costs, loneliness and the long, uncertain road ahead.

Why We’re Raising Funds

We are humbly reaching out to you — friends, family, and compassionate strangers — to help support Akash’s grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. Your donations will go directly toward:

  • Supporting his widow as she completes her education and rebuilds her life
  • Providing for his parents, who depended on Akash both emotionally and financially
  • Addressing legal and logistical costs related to the tragic accident

Let Us Honor His Memory

Akash came to a foreign land not to chase fame or fortune, but to hold up the dreams of the woman he loved. His life was an act of quiet love and sacrifice — a life that deserves to be remembered and honored.

Though we cannot undo the heartbreak, we can come together as a community to surround his family with the compassion and support they so deeply need.

Please consider donating — and if you’re unable to, simply sharing this story means the world.

Let us show Akash’s family that even in the darkest times, they are not alone.
