Ajmal is the brother of my dear friend who lives in Montpelier. Recently, Ajmal said goodbye to his wife, children, and their multi-generational household in Pakistan to live and work as a laborer in Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately, while working abroad, he began experiencing severe pain that quickly worsened, leaving him unable to work. His initial medical screening showed that he has two large kidney stones that require a laser procedure to break up the stones. The cost of the this will be significant, but without it he'll be in severe pain and without income.

Ajmal’s earnings are essential for the survival of his family, which includes his younger siblings and parents, in Pakistan—they depend on him for food, the children’s education, healthcare for his parents, and all the necessities of daily life. His family here in Montpelier is deeply worried about his pain and the well-being of everyone back home. Those of you who have talked to me in the last four years have heard how incredible this family is and how much they mean to me.
