My name is Lisa, and I've started this GoFundMe in support of my son Amancio "AJ" Vega (age 26), who was recently diagnosed with Spindle Cell Sarcoma DFSP, a soft tissue cancer. AJ has already undergone one tumor removal at the base of his spine. He is now being treated through Stanford and will have additional surgery in a few weeks that will leave him with a large hole at the base of his spine. Reconstructive surgery will follow a few weeks later.

AJ is expected to miss at least three months of work while recovering, possibly more. He will need assistance with medical bills as we all know health insurance covers very little when it comes to cancer. And he will also need assistance with his everyday living expenses while on disability.

AJ will continue to have full body MRIs and PET CT scans every three months for the next five years. Our prayer is that AJ will be cancer-free after all this and be able to return to his full life as Dad to his 6-year-old daughter Evie and battery technician for AAA.
