It is my hope that my request finds you in good spirits. I am aware that you do not know me, so allow me to introduce myself. My name is Aisha Stone. I currently attend the Immaculate Conception High School in Kingston, Jamaica and I used to play football. For the past year I have not been able to play due to an injury. Let me explain.

In March of 2024, I was playing football on behalf of the school and in the middle of the game; after making a save, I turned to return to my goal (I’m a goalkeeper) when I felt the worst pain of my life. I fell to the ground immediately, screaming so loudly that the focus of the entire event shifted to me. That was the day my life changed drastically; I had completely torn my right ACL. Ever since then I have endured endless physical pain when walking long distances and climbing stairs, coupled with the shame of not being able to afford treatment, and the silent torment of not wanting to complain too much because everyone has their own issues. My parents cannot afford to cover the full amount, and the school’s insurance policy claims that my parents will have to cover it, then they will be reimbursed. It’s silly, but over the course of my seventeen years on Earth, I have learned that life is silly, and it is unfair. Nonetheless, I must persevere.

This is the reason why I have created this Go Fund Me. I need your assistance in persevering through what has probably been one of the most difficult things I have had to endure. The total amount needed to fix my knee at the Kingston Public Hospital is upwards of 1.6 million Jamaican dollars (approximately USD $10, 048). This will only cover the cost of the materials needed to fix my knee, as KPH provides free healthcare. There have been several fundraisers already, and currently, we have managed to secure JMD$600,000. This is where you, dear reader, come in. I am seeking monetary donations to assist in covering the remainder of the cost. Whatever you have will be greatly appreciated. After purchasing the material, I will have to wait on a list until it is my turn for surgery. I will ensure that you receive updates regarding this entire process. I have also attached photographs of myself so that you may be familiar with the person that is to benefit from your contribution. I deeply appreciate your time and consideration.
