Support Airam Gutierrez's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Airam Gutierrez, and I am reaching out with a humble heart to ask for your support during the most difficult time of my life. On December 30, 2024, my world changed forever when I was involved in a catastrophic car accident. A reckless driver, speeding and running a stop sign, crashed into me at full force, causing my Jeep Wrangler to roll over multiple times.
I miraculously survived, but I suffered severe injuries: a fractured pelvis, two broken bones in my left leg, and two broken bones in my right arm. Doctors feared I might lose my left leg and right hand, but thankfully, they saved them. However, my recovery journey is long and painful—I cannot walk yet, I have no functional use of my dominant right hand, and I have been entirely dependent on others for even the most basic daily tasks.
For nearly two decades, I have dedicated my life to education, working as a Spanish teacher in North Carolina and Georgia. Since 2018, I have been a Spanish teacher at Savannah Arts Academy, where I have found my true passion—teaching and inspiring my students. This accident has taken away my ability to be in the classroom, and it has placed an overwhelming financial burden on me. Even with insurance, my medical bills have already exceeded three months of my salary as a teacher and continue to rise. My salary has been reduced, and my last paycheck was $0. I no longer have a vehicle to get around once I recover. My Jeep was totaled.
Beyond the financial strain, this accident has left me emotionally shattered. The trauma, pain, and loss of independence have made everyday life a challenge. I used to be a strong, independent woman. Now, I rely on others for everything—from getting dressed to moving around in a wheelchair.
Why I Need Your Help
I am asking for your kindness and support to help cover my medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and the expenses of rebuilding my life. Your contributions will go toward:
• Medical expenses and ongoing therapy
• A replacement vehicle
• Basic living expenses while I am unable to work.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will help ease this heavy burden and bring me closer to regaining my independence.
With a Grateful Heart
I am deeply grateful for any support you can give—whether it’s a donation, sharing my story, or simply sending words of encouragement. This journey is not easy, but knowing I have a community of friends, family, colleagues, and students standing by me gives me hope.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
