I belong to a synagogue, Pembroke Pines Jewish Center, that is mostly made up of senior citizens. As the congregation ages, it becomes more and more difficult to raise money. Currently, the synagogue is in desperate need of an air conditioner. The lowest quote received was for $20,000. It is located in Florida and requires air conditioning most of the year.
