Support Aimee Green's Loving Family

Greetings,
My name is James, and I'm here to share a story of Family. I was fortunate enough to have a woman named Aimee Green in my life. She was a woman who could and would be truthful and caring with you, helping you both become better people.

She and her husband, Jared, have a wonderful blended Family consisting of six children, two dogs, five cats, and a turtle. In such a busy household, you'd think they would be well beyond capacity to do anything for anyone else. Even with all that excitement, Aimee would still babysit her nephews. She would be running grandparents to appointments. She opened her home to friends down on their luck by giving them a place to stay and joyously welcoming them into become part of her family.

Aimee worked in healthcare, supporting people going through the worst times. She would treat everyone as a friend, even those patients who were lashing out at the world because of the situation they found themselves in; she was a resolute beacon of hope.

Sadly, as you've noticed, my writing has been past tense. About two and a half years ago, Aimee was having some general medical issues and went to see her doctor. After some testing, they discovered she had developed late-stage esophageal cancer. This condition came to her, willfully ignoring the fact that she didn't have the typical risk factors. The first set of specialists she saw locally gave her a very short term and very limited odds. Friends and family urged her to seek a second opinion. She agreed and went to Fox Chase. They didn't downplay the severity of her disease, but they were optimistic about treatment options.

Most people have had someone in their life fight cancer. There are times when it's very aggressive, requiring the treatments and surgeries that poison the body to combat the invader. That is what Aimee dealt with. She went through the very low points and then mustered the strength to come back. We had game nights, outings, and spent time at the lake all during the time that the first set of doctors thought she'd never see. The cancer shrank, and the treatment worked. I let myself think she beat the odds. She knew every victory was just another battle, but the cancer would win the war.

Her body was becoming so frail, the treatments took away that quality of life that we all deserve. After much thought and talks with Jared, she decided to enroll in St Luke's hospice care at home. She was able to rest, she had a couple of weeks to spend with those closest to her before she passed in her sleep around 5pm on May 8th 2025. A light like hers shines bright in the memories of her family and friends for all time.

Had this been a post on social media, that would have let you see just how special she was. Why would I but posting on GoFundMe? Much like how the cancer used the smallest opportunity to find Aimee, the life insurance companies that the family had were able to exploit loopholes by re-underwriting her policy when Jared switched positions at his current job (to better support the family) finding her uninsurable, another policy had a condition where if you are diagnosed with a terminal condition within 6 months of a policy starting the policy is void, and this happened 5 months into that policy. So the family was prepared, they had insurance coverage, they did the right thing, and then that was yanked away.

I'm asking for support for the family, please give to help them manage these funeral expenses that should have been covered by the insurance they already enrolled in. If you knew her, if you know me, if you wish you knew her, please donate and share.
