Our beloved friend Aidyn, has recently been diagnosed with a rare form of soft tissue sarcoma (cancer). Aidyn was a hard working Mum, and full time university student on the way to pursuing her dream as a midwife prior to her diagnosis with cancer. At just 22 she built a home, and created a life for her two little boys with her soulmate Matt. We all know Aidyn for her kind soul, bubbly personality and positive outlook on life. She would give the ‘shirt off her back’ for anyone, but now it’s our turn to take care of her.
Naturally, this news has devastated family, friends and the community. Aidyn is now required to pack up her life and move to Melbourne to undergo aggressive chemotherapy and localised treatment under a team of sarcoma specialists.
Due the nature of treatment, Aidyn has had to end her university education and both Aidyn and Matt will be unable to work during this time. The Sony ‘You Can Stay’ Foundation has alleviated the financial stress of accommodation by placing them in an apartment in Melbourne. However devastatingly, Aidyn and Matt are required to leave their two boys, aged 4 and 1, behind with family to start treatment.
Money raised will assist their sons, Beau and Huey, to travel frequently to Melbourne to create precious memories with Aidyn. Moreover it will help alleviate additional financial costs such as flights home/back when possible, household bills, fertility preservation, daily commutes to/from the hospital and incurred expenses along the way.
Despite the heart wrenching circumstances, Aidyn is remaining positive and whipping out jokes at any second she gets. We know that Aidyn, Matt and their two little boys will be eternally grateful for all the love and support.
Let’s fight this with her. Xx
