Meet Aiden, a vibrant young man known for his infectious joy and passion for dance, music, and football. On June 14th, Aiden’s life took an unexpected turn when he was rushed to the hospital, battling severe neurological symptoms. Diagnosed with the rare post-viral autoimmune condition known as Miller-Fisher Syndrome, Aiden found himself in intensive care, struggling to breathe, speak clearly, walk, swallow, eat or even open in eyes.
Over the past month in hospital, Aiden has shown remarkable resilience through intensive rehabilitation. With incredible determination, he has progressed to taking small sips of water, attempting to eat, and gaining mobility with the aid of a wheelchair and specialized equipment. His journey to recovery has been inspiring, and soon he hopes to return home.
However, this path hasn't been easy on Aiden’s family. While the hospital provides some support, the financial burden is significant. Costs for essential supplies like gravity feed equipment($100/m), medications, pump feeding supplies for his return home or school(a few hundred a month), supplement feeds ($360/m), and necessary equipment rentals are mounting, adding strain to an already stressed family budget. Also having to purchase things like milk storage bottles, the mobility belt cause the hospital has run out of loan ones, bottle warmers etc.
Your support can make a world of difference for Aiden and his family during this challenging time. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial pressure and allow Aiden to focus on his recovery and returning to the activities he loves.
Please consider donating to support Aiden’s journey to healing. Your generosity will be deeply appreciated.
