Support Aiden Jeffus' Heart Surgery Journey

Aiden Jeffus is from Meadville, MS. He was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart. He is undergoing a new procedure called a biventricular repair. November 12 he will have his 5th open heart surgery at Memorial Hermann in Houston, TX. He is 12 years old and a warrior. It gets pretty expensive traveling 5.5 hours to Houston every 3 months for appointments.

aiden has had surgery and has a long road ahead to recover. We will have to stay in Houston for months.

Aiden had a Cath and a PICC line placed on 11/26.

We will have to stay in Houston for an extended period of time due to the medications he will be discharged on through the PICC. He is being monitored very closely so we have to stay as long as he needs for his heart to accept this change and get used to it.

12/24 we are still in Houston. Aiden is on a continuous drip of Milrinone through a PICC to control heart failure. He’s on strong diuretics and is needed to be watched every closely. He will need another surgery to repair a mitral valve but we do not know when.

Aiden got to come back to MS 1/17/24! The road to this will be long. We will travel to Jackson MS for labs weekly and Houston monthly.

Aiden goes back to Houston February 16. We pray his mitral valve looks better but still prepared for another open heart surgery to repair it.

latest update: Aiden had another heart Cath on 6/4 at Memorial Hermann in Houston.

he is ready for his next surgery to fix his mitral valve which will be a LONG way from home (his surgeon moved). We will fly there and come back to Houston for his cardiologist to take care of him. Should be around Christmas.
