Ahmani is 13 years old and has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne is a progressive muscle-wasting disease that currently has no cure. As the disease progresses, so does the need for more medical equipment.

Currently, Ahmani has a manual wheelchair, but he has outgrown that since his diagnosis 3 years ago, and he will require a power chair. In order to transport the chair, we will need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for him to be able to get back and forth from appointments and to simply leave the house with his family. Unfortunately, the price for a used van is upwards of $50k.

Being handicapped is not a choice, but it comes with an expensive price. This disease robbed him from so many things that so many of us take for granted like simply being able to get up out of bed and walk. He should not have to be confined to the house due to lack of a vehicle
