Salam, my name is Kate, I live in London, it is my honour to introduce my friend, Ahmad.
Update 16th December, 2025 -
Friends, thank you for your continued support of Ahmad, his little nephew Joud, and their family in Gaza, and his parents, who were medically evacuated to Cairo and continue to need support. It defies belief that they have been subjected to the deliberate horror and separation of this genocide for 800+ days. Ahmad is doing all he can to support his community by continuing to volunteer at Al-Aqsa Hospital, despite the lack of supplies and impact on his own health.
However you observe the end-of-year holidays, I'd like to ask if you can support Ahmad and his family during the winter. Your donation will ensure they can afford food, rent and life's necessities to survive the months ahead. On behalf of Ahmad, Joud, and everyone they love, thank you for standing with them.
Like so many families across Gaza, they are simply trying to survive the horrors of living in an imbalanced war zone, and now they have been left without a home and an orphaned toddler to keep safe and raise.
Evacuation at this time is not possible. All of the money raised so far has been used for Ahmad's extended family in Gaza to simply survive and provide critical support for Ahmad's elderly parents facing health issues in Cairo.
Now we need to raise urgent funds to help Ahmad and his family, survive the brutal realities of winter.
Ahmad and his extended family, including his much-loved nieces and nephew, along with their neighbours, were all sheltering together in the remains of their bombed family home. After this was destroyed, they are all now renting available shelter, which places additional burden on their scarce resources. The physical hardship and psychological torture Ahmad and his family experience daily is overwhelming. Ahmad's surviving family and neighbours face a brutal winter. They are asking for help to buy critical food and supplies to survive. The scarcity of everything in Gaza means that costs for everyday items are incredibly high. Please donate if you can, or share the link to this fundraiser.
Shukran, on behalf of Ahmad and his family.

Ahmad lives in Gaza and works at Al-Aqsa hospital where he volunteers with a very meagre stipend.
I know Ahmad through our mutual friend Hala. Please read Ahmad’s story below to learn about him and his need to support his parents and family and, when he can, evacuate as soon as possible.
Meet Ahmad Abu Subha, a brilliant, warm 25-year-old and a proud Graduate of Gaza University with a Medical Secretarial degree. As the second oldest in his family, he and his brother are well outnumbered by their seven much-loved sisters. They live in Nuseirat, Gaza. Ahmad is largely responsible for caring for his family due to his Dad and Mum's urgent medical evacuation to Cairo, which was granted in February.
Since October 2023, Ahmad has shown up at his work at Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital, day in and day out, to volunteer with the hospital team to help the sick and injured in his community. He also volunteers with a children's charity to support sick children and their families seeking evacuation. Ahmad and his colleagues work in the most extreme circumstances of this conflict, doing all they can without the necessary supplies and under constant siege; for Ahmad and his colleagues, there has been no rest and no real pay for over two years.
Ahmad’s family home was severely damaged during a bombing in November 2024. It is unliveable so they are renting whatever accommodation they can, wherever they can find it. Three of Ahmad's sister's homes were destroyed in bombings, so they, along with their husbands, their families, and other families in the area, are now sheltering and looking after each other as a community in the family home.
In October, 2023 Ahmad's Dad, Yousef, and Mum, Tahia, were due to travel to Cairo under an urgent medical evacuation. They finally left Gaza for medical treatment in Cairo in early 2024.They were reluctant to leave Gaza as they are a very close family, and their fear was that in leaving, they may never see their children or home again.
In December 2024, two of Ahmad's beloved sisters and his brother-in-law were killed in a bombing. Leaving behind Ahmad's little nephew, Joud. Now an orphan, Ahmad and his surviving siblings are responsible for raising, loving and supporting Joud.
We'd like to raise money with your support to help Ahmad and his parents survive the unfathomable. 100% of the funds you contribute will be used directly to help Ahmad in the following ways:
- Funds to help with the humanitarian needs of Ahmad and his extended family. With the ever-worsening conditions in Gaza it’s essential to help fund much-needed food, water, clothing, and other basic needs. They may also need to evacuate to another area at a moment's notice.
- Funds to cover the costs of safe evacuation for Ahmad from Gaza into Egypt – when able, Ahmad will need to cover the evacuation cost, including transportation to the border, expenses, and onto Cairo – this is very uncertain and unlikely at present.
- Funds to provide additional medical assistance and living expenses for Ahmad's Dad and Mum – at the moment, they're at the mercy of a public health system in Egypt with a rotating door of Doctors on call that is setting back both their physical and mental health and ability to recover
- Funds for living costs to set Ahmad and his parents up for what's next - to assist Ahmad and his parents while Ahmad finds a way to get back to work. Including finding a place to stay longer-term in Egypt while they decide what the best path forward is, along with food to eat, clothes, and other necessities.
After all of the above is accomplished, additional funds will be used to help the rest of Ahmad's family as their needs increase.
Ultimately, these funds will help Ahmad take care of his parents and his family and give them much-needed assistance and space to not worry financially after all they have gone through in Gaza and with their health concerns over the past 800 + days.
