Help Us Support Agafia – A Devoted Mother, Wife and Caregiver Facing Her Toughest Battle

Dear friends and family,

Our mother, Agafia Gostevskyh, is in the ICU after suffering a severe, hemorrhagic stroke from a ruptured blood vessel. It’s been a heartbreaking and uncertain time for our family as we watch someone we love—someone who has always been the caregiver—now needing care herself. She is being kept alive by three life support measures. According to medical staff, it is highly unlikely that she will ever speak or walk again. We have high hopes for recovery and are praying for a miracle.

Agafia is the kind of person who never hesitated to show up for others. She was a full-time caregiver to our grandma for almost 30 years, including the nine strenuous years she was bedridden. Our brother is disabled and she has taken great care of him for all 46 years of his life. She has also been a constant source of support to friends and neighbors helping them whenever asked. She’s spent her life quietly lifting up those around her. She’s the one who would give away her last dollar, bring a hot meal without being asked, listen with love when times were hard, and pray daily for others.

Now, she needs our help.

Since she was rushed to the hospital, our father hasn’t left her side. But, with our mother unable to work and bills growing by the day, they are struggling to cover basic expenses. She has been the sole-provider within the household, supporting both our disabled dad and brother. With a long road to recovery, there will be an immense financial burden. They’ve always done their best to manage quietly and on their own, but this is a moment where they truly need our community.
