Support after the fire.
On Friday November 17th at 3am, myself (Warren C Longmire), Christian Rwakazina and Alex Russakoff awoke to a house fire in the second floor of our home in West Philly.
A fourth roommate, in a moment of deep mental distress, started the fire as a means of self-harm. He is currently getting mental the help he needs that he. None of us, thankfully, were physically injured.
Unfortunately, the smoke and physical damage to the home itself has left the three remaining of us homeless, jumping between Red Cross shelters and the couches of generous friends. We hope to be able to move back in to the home we love, but that is dependent on many things outside of our control. It is also indeterminate, at this point, how much of our things will need to be replaced.
At the prompting of friends and family, we have setup this page so that anyone who want to support us at this uncertain time can. In the event we can't move back, a cushion to take care of a deposit on a new place, moving and replacement costs would be a relief. No contribution, including a kind word or thought, is unappreciated.
It could have been much, much worse. We are thankful that it is not, for each other, and to all of you that have already reached out.
Be well and talk soon.
