I recently lost a career that I truly enjoyed and was passionate about, working with disabled individuals who inspired me every day. The loss was sudden and unexpected, stemming from a combination of car trouble and misunderstandings with my supervisors. I was always transparent about my situation and did everything I could to fulfill my responsibilities, but despite my dedication, I was let go. The hardest part was not just losing my job, but feeling like I let down the amazing people I cared for and supported.

Since being terminated, I’ve faced a series of challenges. My car broke down just before I was recommended for termination, and I was honest with my supervisor about needing extra time to get things sorted. Unfortunately, shortly after, I was called in by HR and told I was being let go for not meeting certain requirements, even though I had been assured everything was in order. I immediately filed for unemployment insurance, but the process has been slow and frustrating, with endless calls and no resolution yet. It’s now been two months without any income, and I’m falling behind on everything—auto payments, credit cards, and my bank account is overdrafting.

I’ve always believed in helping others when I can, and I’ve tried to live by that principle. A few years ago, I helped a single mother in a tough spot, offering financial support even when it wasn’t easy for me. While that kindness wasn’t returned, I still believe that supporting each other is what makes a community strong. Now, I find myself in need of help, and I’m reaching out with hope that others might lend a hand. Any support you can offer would mean the world to me as I work to get back on my feet.
