help my dad's encephalitis battle

Donation protected

Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit this go fund me page I have set up for my dad and mum. In May 2015 my dad became ill, and unfortunately never got diagnosed promtly, he was rushed in by ambulance early morning on a Friday after having a seizure and not being responsive. Late Friday evening we were told that my dad had encephalitis which is the herpes simplex virus which was attacking his brain, we were all devastated he was the rock of our family he was hard working self employed builder that supported his wife (of over 30 years) as she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis a few years ago, he was a family man that has 3 children, 6 grandchildren that he loved.
After we had the diagnosis we all hoped when he came round dad would still be there, finally he came round but dad was not dad no more. He has no memory of any of his family or friends, it been a very hard and long two years for all of us, with my mum being his main career and us trying support her when and where we can.
Unfortunately as dad become ill he is unable to work and neither is my mum as she cares for him and it's a daily struggle.
encephalitis is a rare medical condition i had not even heard of until he was diagnosed his life has completely tunrned and im just trying to bring back some part of my dad with any help i recieve i miss speaking to him i miss him with my children, its very difficult to accept but where we live we just dont have much in nhs funding for neurological problems so there is no support and there was no rehabilitation plan given to him where as if we were in a big city he would of gone straight into a rehabilitation place from hospital and not sent home we have done our best to help him but we are not proffesionals and he really needs this now, so I'm trying to raise money to help support them through this difficult time and try to get my dad help to improve his living and to find some help for him neuro specialist and psycologist and a rehabilitation for him to try and gain something back in life for him to start believing life is worth living many thanks for reading. i would really appreciate my page being shared.
