In 2022, I took a risk. I walked away from college, knowing I had to build something different. Something for us. I created Afropop, a soda company that partners with emerging black artists. I wanted a brand that was unapologetically Black. Something you could see yourself in. Something that resonated. But when I went to the big distributors… they called it niche and said certain audiences wouldn't buy it. We know where our dollars go, large legacy brands. They're using our money to pollute our communities and the environment. We can change where we spend. On April 4th, I'm launching our e-commerce platform. To give people the chance to experience our products. AFROPOP's small, but we're building something great. We're not selling out. We're not getting bought. We’re here to compete! We partner with emerging Black artists. We are uplifting our community.
We make flavors like Blvcker the Berry, a blackberry vanilla soda. Grandma's House, a butterscotch cream soda and Summer Nights, a blueberry lemonade soda. This isn't just soda. It's about us. It's about taking back our dollars. It's about building something that represents us.
