Support Afrii’s Emergency Medical and Legal Costs
Donation protected
On January 25th, my friend and coworker Afrii, a mother of three, was attacked by her Uber driver on her way to pick up her children from school. Fortunately another friend was with her to record this attack and Afrii is receiving care now, we are looking into legal action, but we want to support Afrii through this very difficult time.
We are raising funds to go directly to Afrii to diffuse her emergency medical costs, funds to pursue legal action, and relief funds for her leave of absence from work until she is prepared to return.
(linked, warning: graphic) and the driver has since been arrested and charged with assault. The attack was unprovoked, and Afrii was pulled from the car by the driver, thrown to the sidewalk, punched in the face multiple times, scratched, and required multiple stitches. All of this happened outside of her childrens’ school.
If you have come by Singers at any weekend since we’ve been open, Afrii has been working with us since Day 1. She is smart, intelligent, funny, and hard working.
No person deserves this treatment, least of all Afrii, and we would like to show our support for her as a small community of neighbors.
While we all want to see justice served, we hope you can help Afrii immediately by giving generously at this time.
