Support Afghan Girls Through Online Education

WDI Afghanistan online learning program provide as volunteer education opportunities for Afghan girls as they cannot go to school due to the Taliban restrictions.

"Every girl should get the opportunity to go to school and learn," said the fifth grader, Mariam. And everyone should get an opportunity to do what they want to do.

Yal Bano: - I want to help to make sure that every girl in Afghanistan have the chance to study online, offline or with every other way."

The online education program started by Yal and Ayaz and the program has been ongoing for more than four years since August 2021.

At the beginning we had 5 students, but now through networks and connections with students and their friends we have more students in classes and more others waiting to join in new classes.

The program is like online school based on Afghanistan education systems and we use telegram app and google meet for classes, and we consider the safety of students and all more as what we are doing is just something against the Taliban rule.

We only have 5 graduated students from the school program since August 2021.

Some of our students who were graduated from school before Taliban took over, we applied for them at university of the people to continues online degree from inside home.

7 of our students are busy with higher education and university.

2 of our students, after graduation from online education program, help new students as their teachers and at the same time with the small gift they received from program, they help their family or at least their small child with some need.

3 of our students just learned skills and today they can help themselves with daily life needs and one has online shops, and she sells her products from inside home.

The big picture or goal for the program is to give hope to students. And keep their hope alive in such a hard time. And the second goal is to give them the power of knowledge. And at the same time try to be as an opportunity for teachers or admins who worked before Taliban time, and they have work experience but due to the Taliban restrictions they are in home and face with hard lifetime.

The program is 100% volunteer and by help of you all we try to provide access of internet for whole month for students and teachers. But sometimes or every month we try to have a small gift for teachers. We have teachers and admins from Afghanistan who live inside Afghanistan.

We have 4 or 5 teachers not from Afghanistan but this kind and wondaful women wanted to help Afghan students and give the gift of knowledge and prepare them for today world.

And our students are very happy and grateful for the program and opportunities.

Benefits: -

1- As girls are banned from school in Afghanistan this is such a wonderful way to help them to learn with online programs.

Based on students’ and their mothers’ voices and messages they see to program as hope, and they are not any more with negative thoughts or depressions or think to kill their self.

One of my student’s mothers said, when The Taliban banned students from midwife education, one girl kills herself, so this kind of learning program is as hope for we all please continue it and keep the hope alive during these dark and hard time for our daughters.

2- As women don’t have the opportunity of work in Afghanistan based on Taliban restrictions. but they have degree and experience, and they also face hard life, online learning programs are great way if they help students and if possible, to have small gifts.

In one side they can use their skills and other hand they can help their children with daily life needs. Which is wonderful.

Why is WDI an online education program special?

As students said, other programs which they help students, they asked who have internet or phone or computer.

Some of students said we were joined to program, but we had no internet, so they removed us from program, and we became hopeless and disappointed again.

So, WDI program really focusses on students who DONT HAVE accesses to internet or personal smart phone or computer to see who really need help and provide for them opportunity to learn and internet which is wonderful, and we are grateful about it.

And at the same time, we help women who live in Afghanistan and don’t have men to work for them, and they cannot work outside because of the Taliban restriction.

And as more areas of Afghanistan don't have Electricity we try to help and provide power bank for them.

By time as we see school is open again for girls, till that time we don’t have plans to graduate students,

But The plan is first we help students to learn very well and then after exam we will hire them as new teacher to our program for new student. But After graduation of these students, we want to make sure,

A very great and wonderful news to Afghan girls. As they are busy with online education now. They have the chance to get an international school diploma after graduation from secret school programs. And we are all so excited about it.

Besides schools we have started an online library for our students, and they are so happy about it, and they have an online program every week to share information and knowledge with each other.

We try to provide and make sure by time that every student and teacher have access to smart phone, power bank and a way to continue their life and access to internet to raise their voice and Talk about their own rights.

Women and girls in Afghanistan need your help, and even small efforts can make a significant impact on their rights, especially education and food. Afghan girls deserve the chance to learn. Please join us. Together we can make a change.

You will directly help a student with her study and supplies (book, paper, pen, pencil) and importantly with the internet for online learning programs.

all students need max 20 USD for one month to have internet, and we use Ding app to send internet to them in Afghanistan.

And as for teachers, we will need sometimes or every month 50 USD as small gifts to help them as they live in hard life condition, but the focus is the internet for both teachers and students.

Note: Yal is not doing the process of sending internet to students, but she is available all the time if you have any questions.

2 Afghan women and family arrived to their new home through private sponsorship. Two women safe now and have the right and human rights and not any more living under the control of the Taliban.

And also, other new plan and part of empowering women and girls in Afghanistan.

We are urgently raising funds for widows/mothers of small children as they have a hard life condition in Afghanistan specially under the control of Taliban.

Based of Time when I was in Afghanistan 150 USD is fine for 5 members of family for one month to have food and urgent need or rent.

And the plan is we will provide food In front of their door and took picture from food and people they are beneficiaries but not from their face as culture and situation is dangerous if they share, they picture in public. And we try to share these updates after sharing food with family via with WDI Afghanistan YouTube and we start this plan from July 2025.
