Help Aedyn Heal

On Saturday August 1st, Joe and Shana Kickery's 14yr old son Aedyn was riding his bicycle downhill when he was hit by a car. The impact sent his face into the windshield, causing significant injuries to his nose, left eye, and teeth, along with a small fracture in one of his vertebrae. By some miracle, his brain and spine are okay, but Aedyn has already been through so much. He was rushed to Boston Children's Hospital, where he has remained since the accident. So far, Aedyn has undergone two surgeries, with more still to come. His family is now facing the overwhelming reality of a long recovery ahead.

Aedyn's family is one of the most caring and hardworking families you will ever meet. Shana and Joe are the kind of people who show up for others, wouldn't think twice about giving to someone in need, and right now it's our community's turn to show up for them.

Joe is a mechanic and also delivers newspapers, and Shana is a paraprofessional in our schools. Like most of us, they do not have extra resources, and they are also trying to be there for Aedyn's three younger siblings during this incredibly difficult time.

Donations will help ease the burden of lost wages while they stay by Aedyn's side at the hospital, support the time they will need together at home during recovery, cover the travel back and forth to Boston for upcoming surgeries, and help with any additional needs that come up as they adjust to this new normal.
