Support Adrien's Journey to Authentic Self

Hi everyone, I’m Adrien.

I’m an 18-year-old student studying Veterinary Medicine at the University of Chile. I am also a violinist, athlete, and animal lover. I have been playing the violin for 8 years, and it has helped me cope and express what words can’t.

Growing up, I always felt like I didn't belong in my body. I always felt this growing up but didn't give too much thought to it until I turned 14 and decided it was time for me to finally embrace who I was. I finally had the courage to speak to my parents and explain to them how I felt. Thankfully, they have always been supportive. I've always been so grateful for them. Once I turned 16, I was so excited to finally be able to start hormone therapy. I finally felt closer to being my authentic self. Now that I go to university, I've been very self-conscious about my chest, especially since now I play for the handball team. I can't stand not being able to take my shirt off in the changing rooms without feeling like myself. I can't go to swimming pools or the beach without feeling dysphoria. I'm so tired of using transtape all these years.

I’m a student and don’t have the funds to cover the surgery. My family is trying their best to support me, but they are also on a tight budget. The reality is that we can’t afford the costs on our own, which is why I decided to start this GoFundMe page.

Getting this surgery will mean I'll be able to finally relax at the beach, I’ll finally be able to change comfortably as who I am. It will help me take a big step towards my own freedom.

My GoFundMe goal is $8000, which will cover:

The surgery itself

The surgeon

The hospital fee

Pre-op and post-op appointments

I'll have 10 kinesiology appointments and scarring appointments

Travel to the surgical center

A little cushion for recovery essentials

I set an appointment with a doctor in Chile. Her name is Dr. Mora. I'm looking to have a double incision.
