Hi. My name is Elizabeth and I’m raising funds for my son Adrian’s 2nd fight against leukemia (AML).
He was first diagnosed on 1/1/25 with AML and underwent 5 rounds of intensive chemo inpatient at Carilion Children’s. He went into remission and finished treatment in the summer of 2025.
We dealt with complications from the last round of chemo and had to undergo 2 extra surgeries. We didn’t make it back home from treatment until October 2025.
He rung the bell loud and proud on Halloween 2025, and got his port taken out in December 2025. We thought his fight against cancer was coming to a close and we could get back to creating a new normal at home.
We went on his Make A Wish trip in February 2026. He had the most magical time and then we came back for his clinic visit the following week. His levels had plummeted. They recommended following up with more labs (3/4/26). His labs had not improved and had confirmed our worst fear.
We found out he had relapsed with the same leukemia. We did a biopsy on 3/5/26 to get more information on his relapse. We got admitted on 3/10/26 due to neutropenic fever. Today 3/11/26 he had surgery to get his port put back in to fight leukemia once again. Tomorrow 3/12/26 he will restart treatment. After he completes chemo and gets back into remission we will be going to VCU in Richmond for a stem cell transplant so he can become cured for good.
During his 1st fight against leukemia and now during his 2nd fight I have been/will be out of work being his 24/7 caretaker while we are inpatient at the hospital an hour and a half from home and then when we get home I will continue to be his caretaker post transplant. His dad will remain working full time coming back and forth between home and Roanoke every week.
We appreciate everyone’s help, no matter how big or small it all is appreciated! We appreciate the prayers for our little warrior and we know with God by his side he will overcome leukemia once again and for good!
