On April 25, 2024, Lianna was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a type of blood cancer more common in young children.

Wednesday morning Lianna went through 2 procedures: a lumbar puncture, and a bone marrow biopsy and on Thursday we received the results which confirmed that she had cancer. She began treatments that same week- treatments that will last 2+ years.

Life has changed in a matter of hours for the whole family. Mom and dad, Adrian Horn and Baleegh Munir, are living every parents worst nightmare, feeling the helplessness of not being able to protect their child from something that is causing her harm.

Prior to her diagnosis, Lianna was a vibrant, energetic 6 year old who loved going to school, playing with her friends, spending quality time with mom and getting kisses from her pup.

Now Lianna’s days look very different. She will undergo numerous spinal taps (sometimes weekly), and bone marrow samples. She will be taking a combination of steroids and chemotherapy all of which will help fight the disease in her body but at the same time dull the spark that makes her uniquely her. Lianna’s strength through all of this is admirable but this is no fight for a child.

We know that Lianna is loved by many and truly appreciate the support of family and friends who have already reached out. Please continue to keep Lianna and her family in your prayers.

They are in their first month of treatment and are seeing a glimpse of their new life.

Insurance is helpful, but it only covers so much. Expenses pile up, especially with only one salary coming in now that mom has dedicated herself to being Lianna’s full time caretaker.
