Adrian Espinoza has achieved a once-in-a-lifetime honor: he and his border collie, Kate, have been selected to represent the USA at the World Sheepdog Trial, held September 16th - 20th in Scotland. This is a dream come true for Adrian, who has dedicated years to training and competing with Kate. Only 10 handlers across the country earn this selection after rigorous competitions over two years. Adrian’s hard work paid off when he placed 5th in the country at the 2024 United States Border Collie Handler’s Association finals, securing his spot among the top five handler/dog teams whose scores will count toward the United States Team’s quest to become #1 in the world.

This incredible opportunity comes with significant expenses. Adrian is responsible for all costs to travel with Kate, including flights to Amsterdam, a ferry to England, and a train to Edinburgh. He’ll need lodging and meals for three weeks, including the trial itself, and plans to participate in several additional trials in the UK before the main event. Every dollar raised will help Adrian and Kate focus on representing the USA with pride, without the burden of financial stress.
