Hello! I am Adri, and I am doing the Foundations program at Hillcrest. Foundations is an unpaid internship where I learn life skills and take Bible classes. I am super excited to do this program! I am hoping to learn more about God’s plan for my future, grow closer to Jesus, and learn skills that I can use in my life.

Foundations is a year-long program with Bible classes, learning the behind-the-scenes of ministry work, growing in my own faith, and so much more! I want to be a part of Foundations because I want to grow in my own faith and have the opportunity to give back to the community that has served me for so long. These are two things that have been very valuable in my own life, especially when I have gone through hard times. I really want this year to be a solid foundation that I can build off of in the years to come.

One part of the program is having the opportunity to work one-on-one with a pastor or staff in the church and learn from them as well as serve in that ministry area. For this portion of the program, I will be provided with one-on-one supervision from a pastor, but also have the opportunity to work with a variety of staff members and gain experience across multiple ministries. Some of the areas I will have the opportunity to focus on will be supporting newcomer connections, working with our new children's pastor, working a bit with youth, even combining those two things to work towards a pre-teen program, as well as many other opportunities to work alongside the staff team at Hillcrest and gain different work experience! I am especially excited about working towards a pre-teen program because this is something I feel passionate about. When I was a pre-teen myself, I had a hard time finding my place in the world and really grounding myself. I believe that this program will help other kids find their place and belonging.

I am excited for this program because it will not only help me but ultimately I get to invest in the community that has loved me for so long.

I hope that over the year I grow in my own faith and that I will get the opportunity to walk alongside others in their spiritual growth. I pray that God will give me a better understanding of my future and inspire me for what's to come.

This is a full-time program and I am responsible for raising the finances I need for the coming year. The up-front cost of the program is $5600. This cost is one-time, but I do need to pay it by September 1st. While I will be living at home, I am still responsible to pay for some of my living expenses. For my remaining living expenses, I estimate needing $500 a month so that I can fully focus on Foundations. I am working toward having all my financial support raised by the start of the program on September 1st so that I can focus one hundred percent of my attention on this program.
