I would like to attend India Medical Mission’s 2026 trip to Hyderabad because I believe it is an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact in underserved communities while providing basic medical assistance and promoting public health education.

Service and community engagement have always been an important part of my life. Growing up, I participated in various volunteer activities, including organizing clean-up initiatives at my local temple, contributing to service projects as a Boy Scout, and assisting with after-school programs and activities for elementary and middle school students. These experiences helped shape my commitment to supporting others and fostering positive community environments.

Being part of this mission would allow me to continue giving back in a meaningful way while deepening my understanding of healthcare beyond the classroom. I am particularly drawn to India Medical Mission because it provides future healthcare professionals with the opportunity to witness health disparities firsthand. Exposure to underserved communities helps develop physicians who are more aware of the social and structural factors that influence health outcomes. To me, healthcare is deeply connected to equity, recognizing that some communities require greater resources, support, and understanding to achieve the same health outcomes as others. This begins with acknowledging that individuals and communities face unique starting points and barriers and educating ourselves to better serve them.

One day, I hope to become a compassionate physician who understands patients holistically and provides care tailored to each individual and family. Through this opportunity, I would gain valuable insight into how healthcare is delivered in resource-limited settings and learn how providers build trust and lasting relationships within closely connected communities. Each interaction during this program would reinforce that healthcare in underserved areas is not only about treating disease, but also about understanding people, their responsibilities, and the communities that shape their lives.

Participating in India Medical Mission would be a deeply meaningful experience that aligns with my personal values and long-term goals. I strongly believe in the organization’s mission and its role in fostering positive and lasting change, and I would be honored to contribute actively to this effort.
