Hi, my name is Adina (short for Alexandrina), and my life changed abruptly in August 2024, when I was diagnosed with ultra high-risk multiple myeloma, with 3 genetic mutations, an aggressive and rare subtype of blood cancer.

I started treatment immediately and underwent 2 stem cell transplants in February and April 2025. Unfortunately, the good results were short-lived and, in January 2026, the cancer returned.

Because of the fast pace of the disease, the best course of action is an equally aggressive treatment, called CAR-T therapy. I must start this treatment within the next 6 weeks because the rapid progression of myeloma gives me a limited window to act.

CAR-T therapy is not available in Canada, where I live. The best option for treatment is at Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo, United States, where they have experience in complex myeloma cases.

I am doing everything I can to stay strong, hopeful, and focused on the next steps. Asking for help is incredibly difficult for me, but this treatment is my best chance to survive. The costs, however, are far beyond what my family and I can manage.

This fundraiser is my request for your help so I can access the treatment that could save my life.

The total cost of the treatment is 775,000 USD. It includes CAR-T cell collection and genetic engineering, hospitalization in Buffalo, pre-treatment conditioning chemotherapy, CAR-T procedure, and post-therapy care.

My family is doing everything possible to support me, and together we are able to cover 525,000 USD from our own resources.

However, we are still facing a critical financial gap of 250,000 USD (or 350,000CAD).

Reaching this amount will allow me to secure access to the CAR-T treatment within the next 6 weeks and move forward with the life-saving therapy I need.
