Update 10/12/25 from Ruthie:
Adele is home resting comfortably. She will be on strict crate rest for 3 weeks, 3 prescriptions, bite wound care and trach area cleaning a few times a day until it closes up. She is one brave pup and a fighter! She was not going to let that snake take her out! ❤️
Update 10/10/25 from Ruthie:
You can finally see my sweet girls beautiful face is getting back to normal. Adele has been fighting so hard and it is showing! ❤️ Good job Adele! She's afraid to eat the chunks of food so she has just been drinking the juice from the chicken. Vet said she will lick the food some but she's still scared to swallow as her throats still a little swollen. Vet tech said she wanted to play a little this morning. That is another fantastic sign of progress! Thank you God! They are going to take the trach out today and see how she does without it. Thank you again everyone for praying and your support. This has been a very expensive recovery but she is worth it!!!!
Adele, Ruthie’s 5-year-old Frenchie, decided she was Wonder Woman this week. When a rattlesnake showed up, she threw herself in front of her sister and mom and took 3 bites to the face. Brave? Yes. Smart? Debatable. Expensive? Very.
She’s been in emergency care ever since, racking up bills that have already passed $10,000. She’s still fighting, but she’s not out of the woods yet.
If you can chip in to help cover her care, we’d be beyond grateful. And if donating isn’t possible, even sharing her story helps. Adele may be strong, but she could use an army of friends right now to get her back on her paws.
Thank you,
