Support Addyson’s Brave Battle Against Cancer!

We’ve created this GoFundMe for Addyson to support her and her family during an incredibly difficult time. While they’ve been reluctant to ask for help, we know how overwhelming the financial burden of cancer treatment can be, from medical bills to travel expenses and time away from work.

For those who do not know Addyson, she is a smart, funny, beautiful young girl who is a very talented skier and golfer among many other things. 16 days ago, the Spehar family received devastating news that their 15 year old daughter was diagnosed with malignant pheochromocytoma (which affects 2 in a million people per year, usually adults) which has already spread to her lungs and liver. The doctors at Children’s are collaborating with specialists around the country for a treatment plan since this is so rare in teens.

As family and friends, we’re stepping in to ask on their behalf. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. This journey is going to be long and challenging, and we want to do everything we can to make sure Addyson’s parents can be fully present, not only for Addy, but also for their younger daughter, Avery.

In addition to traditional medical care, they are exploring functional medicine options in hopes of giving Addy the very best chance at recovery. These treatments are not covered by insurance and are entirely out-of-pocket, adding a significant financial strain on top of an already difficult situation.

Whether it’s traveling out of state for treatment, making frequent visits to Children’s Hospital, or exploring other treatment options, the financial strain adds to an already heavy emotional burden. Our hope is that this fundraiser will help ease that pressure, allowing them to take the time off work they need to be by their daughters' sides, without the added stress of lost income.
