My name is Teresa Stephenson, Gammy to Adalynn (Addy) Noelle.

I am raising funds because on March 31, our world changed. My daughter Morgan noticed when Addy woke, her color was not quite right; she was pale and yellowish. Addy didn't want to eat, play, or even do bathtime; she just wasn't her normal happy self. She decided to take her to the Emergency Room at Goshen Hospital. They performed a blood draw, and that is when they found that her blood counts were low. Her counts were so low that they decided she needed a blood transfusion. Goshen set up to transport her to Riley's Children's Hospital in Indianapolis for further evaluation and testing. When she arrived at Riley's, she was admitted to PICU. Addy received 3 1/2 transfusions. The next morning, Addy had to have a bone marrow procedure (biopsy) done. Results came in on Wednesday, April 2, that she had B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL). On Friday, April 4, she was given a blood and platelet transfusion before surgery where they implanted her port, and she was given a spinal tap to extract fluid in her spine, and also given an initial dose of chemotherapy treatment into her spine. Doctors explained that leukemia cells like to hide in the spine, so they want to attack the leukemia from all angles. Addy will endure a rigorous chemo treatment once a week in Indianapolis for 10 months and another year of oral chemotherapy.

Morgan, Addy's mommy, faces an extended period away from work as a CNA for Hubbard Hill Living Wisdom Dementia Care. This poses a significant challenge in managing household expenses and caring for her children.
