Support Addy's Battle Against Cancer

Hola, mi nombre es Mady Terrero y junto a mi tia, Afra Tejeda, estoy aquí para hablarles de mi madre y su historia, razón por la que estamos abriendo esta recaudación de fondos.

Addy es una hija, hermana, esposa, madre, tía, prima, suegra y amiga abnegada, que se ha entregado al servicio de todas las personas a su alrededor, dándose a sí misma primero siempre por el bienestar de los demás.

En Septiembre 2020, es la primera vez que como familia nos afrontamos al diagnostico de mi madre, cáncer pancreático tipo II. A finales del 2021, recibimos la gran noticia de que, gracias a Dios y al arduo trabajo de sus doctores, mami había entrado en recesión y ya el cáncer no estaba activo en su cuerpo. A partir de ese momento, solamente constaba de dar seguimiento semestral y ver que todo estuviera en orden.

Sin embargo, a partir de enero 2024, empezamos a ver síntomas extraños en mami que nos hicieron accionar de diferentes maneras: dolores muy fuertes en piernas y espalda, dificultad respiratoria y dificultad para tragar.

Lamentablemente en ese momento, fuimos notificados que el cáncer había vuelto. Esta vez, siendo más agresivo y esparcido en gran parte de su cuerpo: páncreas, huesos, pulmones, y en su glándula submaxilar.

Rápidamente inicio un proceso de cirugía de emergencia en los pulmones para drenar todo el liquido acumulado, biopsia para identificar el origen de la malignidad, procedimientos de bloqueos a través de medicina del dolor para sus huesos.

Actualmente esta recibiendo sus quimioterapias con una frecuencia semanal, y una serie de medicamentos para tratar el dolor físico y mental, la falta de oxígeno y las propias consecuencias de la quimioterapia.

Hoy me dirijo a ustedes con el corazón lleno de gratitud y esperanza en busca de su ayuda y apoyo. En nombre de mi amada madre y nuestra familia, les pido humildemente que nos acompañen en este difícil camino con sus donaciones y oraciones.

Nos encontramos en un momento donde la fortaleza de mi madre es puesta a prueba en su lucha contra una enfermedad que nos ha desafiado profundamente. Sin embargo, en medio de la adversidad, nos aferramos a nuestra fe y a la esperanza de una pronta mejoría, sabiendo que Dios está siempre a nuestro lado.

Estamos recaudando fondos para su tratamiento médico, el cual incluye terapias oncológicas y de manejo del dolor por al menos un año. Cada día enfrentamos nuevos desafíos, tanto emocionales como económicos, ya que los gastos médicos se suman y el cuidado en casa demanda nuestra dedicación constante.

Desde ya me siento muy agradecida por todo el apoyo que hemos recibido y por todos los seres queridos que han dicho presente en un momento tan difícil. Seguimos orando por el bienestar de mami, así les pido que nos mantengan en sus oraciones, y que todos juntos, podamos ser luz para su vida en estos momentos de dificultad.

Hello, my name is Mady Terrero and along my aunt Afra Tejeda, I'm here to tell you about my mother and her story, which is why we are opening this fundraising.

Addy is a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, mother-in-law, and friend, who has given herself to the service of all the people around her, always giving herself first for the well-being of others.

In September 2020, it is the first time that as a family we faced my mother's diagnosis, pancreatic cancer type II. At the end of 2021, we received the great news that, thanks to God and the hard work of her doctors, my mom had entered a recession, and the cancer was no longer active in her body. From that moment on, it was only a matter of following up every six months and making sure that everything was in order.

However, starting in January 2024, we began to see strange symptoms in mommy that made us act in different ways: very strong pain in the legs and back, shortness of breath and difficulty swallowing.

Sadly at that time, we were notified that the cancer had returned. This time, it is more aggressive and spread throughout much of his body: pancreas, bones, lungs, and in his submandibular gland.

He quickly began a process of emergency surgery on the lungs to drain all the accumulated fluid, biopsy to identify the source of the malignancy, blocking procedures through pain medicine for his bones.

She is currently receiving her chemotherapies on a weekly basis, and a series of medications to treat physical and mental pain, lack of oxygen and the consequences of chemotherapy itself.

Today I turn to you with a heart full of gratitude and hope for your help and support. On behalf of my beloved mother and our family, I humbly ask you to accompany us on this difficult journey with your donations and prayers.

We are at a time when my mother's fortitude is being tested in her fight against a disease that has profoundly challenged us. Yet, in the midst of adversity, we cling to our faith and hope for a speedy recovery, knowing that God is always by our side.

We are raising funds for his medical treatment, which includes cancer and pain management therapies for at least one year. Every day we face new challenges, both emotional and financial, as medical expenses add up and home care demands our constant dedication.

I am already very grateful for all the support we have received and for all the loved ones who have been present at such a difficult time. We continue to pray for Mommy's well-being, so I ask you to keep us in your prayers, and that all together, we can be a light for her life in these times of difficulty.
