Fire victims Help Addie's family in Their Time of Need

Hello,

My name is Addie. My family and I are recent victims of a fire inside our home, which has left one side of our home in utter destruction. We are in desperate need of a financial blessing as soon as possible. After feeling hopeless, I found myself having a serious talk with God. He has told me, 'Don't worry, you will be okay.' Nevertheless, I am holding onto God's word, trusting and believing in Him.

With that said, I just sat and decided to go ahead, reach out, and connect with GoFundMe, hoping and praying that others can and will find it in their hearts to bless my family and me with a much-needed financial blessing. We are in need of help fast and immediately. We live in a small community. I have reached out to our property management and have been told no to all that I have asked, from carpet cleaning to additional hotel coverage stay, to temporary housing, to another vacant unit while our home is further investigated and inspected by fire and insurance management outsourced repair vendors. The fire in our home was electrical, starting in the ceiling-attic in our master bathroom. No fault of ours. Again, no fault of ours. It is the second fire in our community since December, leaving four families without a home. Now, it has just recently happened to my family and me.

The root cause of the fire, one may ask and wonder, was specifically the air exhaust unit, which is not uncommon for homes to have. I saw the flames spurting out from that vent as I prepared to take a shower. I'm so very thankful that no one in our home was injured. No loss of life, praise God! Property management covered our hotel stay for four days. This fire just happened four days ago. The Red Cross came the next day and covered the cost of an extra room because four people, including a dog, sharing one small hotel room is difficult. At this point, I am not allowing myself to become broken in spirit, but rather, I keep reminding myself that God is in control. Nearly 20 years ago, exactly 20 years come March 2026, I was homeless with a newborn, a little girl age 7, and a toddler after my husband lost his job from a major corporate company, which I cannot name. It was devastating and most unfortunate. It tore the family apart, causing a disconnect between husband and wife (me). It was a struggle to bounce back. God blessed us 12 years later with a home, a new life, a new beginning, and a fresh start. How I feel at this moment is that I know my faith in God will continue to help me keep it together. I will not allow my spirits to become broken.

God is not only ordering my steps, He is directing me. Y'all reading this, I just need a bit of help where there seems to be no further help. I know my God is a way maker. It's so humbling to reach out to others in the world, far and near, to ask for help. People don't and won't know what I need if I don't ask. My hands are open, and I stand in need, asking and seeking help to keep my home, a roof over all our heads. Here in my room, work and repairs are needed: air ducts and ceilings. Our home is like a condo-style apartment. We don't know if management will allow us to remain living in our unit as vendors come and go. Nearly $900.00 has been paid out for the hotel since last Thursday. Major damage was only to one side of our home, making it unlivable. I am asking and seeking financial help from others I don't know. I thank any and all most sincerely.
