Support Addie and the Porta Family

Donation protected
Our dear sweet Addie is currently enduring something very difficult right now. A few weeks ago, she went into the emergency room to evaluate some chest pain she was experiencing. The Doctors did an ultrasound and a CT scan, and unfortunately found a tumor in her chest the size of a tennis ball that had been putting pressure up against her heart due to it’s size. There are still a lot of unknowns at the moment, but at this point all indications point to cancer of some kind. She is currently in Houston, TX with her mom and dad and is still receiving tests to confirm what this is exactly, and if it is cancer, what kind. Her first biopsy came back inconclusive due to an insufficient size of the sample they obtained. She is scheduled for another biopsy on Monday, May 20th. On Friday May 17th she had a PET scan and a Bone Marrow Biopsy done – we are still awaiting the results for those tests, but should have them early next week hopefully.
Whatever this ends up being, however, this is sure to be the start of a very long journey for poor Addie. Many have been asking how they can help….. they could use lots of love and prayers, texts/cards, as well as any financial contribution you are able or willing to give as the medical expenses are sure to become quite costly, and have already started accumulating. As mentioned earlier they are currently in Houston, TX at the MD Anderson Center, so any money donated will also go towards travel expenses so she can be seen by the specialty oncology center there and get the best possible treatment available.
Her Father Arlo is self-employed, and her Mother Lisa will continue working to provide health insurance during her treatments. Money donated might also go towards daily living expenses while Arlo and/or Lisa will most likely need to take time off work to help take Addie to treatments/care for her in between treatments, while also caring for their other two young children still at home.
Other ways in which help would be more than welcome/appreciated are meals for the family, help with daily household chores/cleaning, and helping with their two boys (especially if both Arlo/Lisa are needed to tend to Addie at times).
Addie is truly one of the sweetest, most loving people I know and knowing the journey she is about to embark on firsthand, it is truly heart breaking. The Porta family has always done so much for others and I just know that if we can show them that same love in return it would mean the world to them. My hope and goal with this is to allow my sister and her beautiful family to be able to focus solely on the care of their daughter without the stress and burden of money. Even a little bit goes a long way.
I will continue to update on here and social media as much as possible with the permission of Arlo and Lisa as to test results and treatment options etc. We should know more very soon – but if you would like to reach out to them with an encouraging text or scripture and do not have their number please reach out to me (Terrianna) and I would be more than happy to share their contact information.
