Hey guys! For those who don’t know him - Adam is our amazing Head Jeweler at Fiat Lux, and he needs our help!
What's happening:
On May 1st, Adam was in a bike accident on his way to work and sustained a serious injury to his dominant hand. The use of his dominant hand is vital to his ability to work as an active goldsmith/diamond setter, and this injury has left him unable to work for an extended period of time.
Scans so far have indicated that Adam has likely sustained nerve damage and/or a torn ligament/tendon. The doctor has told him he will be out of work for a minimum of 6 weeks, and it is unclear if surgery will be needed (which would drastically increase the length of recovery time). Adam is applying for disability for the duration of his recovery, but the process is slow.
He is facing a long and unpredictable journey with a significant loss of income, and can use any help you can give.
This $12,000 goal will help cover:
* Remaining medical costs not covered by insurance
* The wage gap left by disability pay and missed teaching opportunity
* Travel and transportation replacement
* A safety buffer for surprise recovery expenses
