Last summer, doctors diagnosed my brother Adam with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). It's a devastating disease that has turned his and his family's lives upside down.
Adam is a devoted husband and proud father of three amazing teenagers. He's spent his career as a pharmacist helping others. Not long after his diagnosis, the disease forced him to stop working. Since then, life is a daily challenge full of physical, emotional and financial strain.
ALS affects every part of the body over time, limiting movement, speech and eventually breathing. There is no known cure.
To maintain as much comfort, safety and dignity as possible, Adam now needs expensive medical care, assistive devices, communication tools, home modifications and ongoing support services.
We're hoping to raise $50,000 to help Adam and his family cover these mounting costs. In truth, even that amount may not cover everything.
Adam’s wife Julie spent most of their children's upbringing as a full-time, stay-at-home mom. She returned to work to help keep the family afloat while raising teenagers and caring for a husband with a terminal illness. The demands of Adam’s illness forced her to leave her full-time position. Her strength is incredible but no one can do this alone.
Your donation will help cover:
- Necessary home modifications (wheelchair accessibility, bathroom adjustments, etc.)
- Mobility and communication devices
- Medical and nursing care not covered by insurance
- Transportation and care-giving support
- Basic household needs while income is limited
If you can donate, thank you. If you can't, we would be grateful if you could share this fundraiser with others.
Thank you for your support and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
