My name is Jenna McNeil and I am making this GoFundMe for my dad.

Our family came back from an amazing vacation to California on Sunday, 7/13. The following day, Adam had an MRI done to check on a benign cyst on the left side of his neck that had previously been removed and returned. While the doctors were assessing his results, they found a large mass growing on the right side of his neck.

The next day, Adam found out that he was being let go from his job, the company that he started working at in 1999. This was his first time being unemployed in 30 years. Immediately after finding this out, he got results back from the biopsy confirming that he has oral squamous cell carcinoma, an aggressive form of head and neck cancer.

So far, he has had a tooth and cyst removal, a medical port inserted into his chest, a PEG feeding tube inserted, and he is struggling with extreme nausea, staying hydrated, holding down his "food," dry mouth, and many other symptoms. His neck is burning and peeling from the radiation, and he has lost his taste, voice, and patches of his hair. The worst part is the pain he feels when swallowing, which he describes as like swallowing shards of glass, making it near impossible for him to take his extremely long list of medications every day.

My mom had to make the difficult decision to take a leave of absence from her job to help him through the rest of his treatment. Between the losses of my parents' salaries and the cost of medical bills for the endless testing, hospital stays, and medications, I have decided to reach out for help because I know my parents would not have done it themselves.

Adam is looking forward to hopefully recovering and getting back to the things he loves including watching sports, spending time with his family, and playing with his new puppy, Spencer, that he got as an emotional support animal to help him through this difficult process.
