*UPDATE 11/1/2025 : Adam was released from the hospital to begin his healing journey. Unfortunately, shortly after coming home the entry wound on his neck began bleeding profusely. He was taken to the ER and found out he had two pseudo aneurysms on his carotid artery from the bullet. He was taken to University of Chicago by ambulance. A neurosurgeon was able to put two stents in and repair the artery. After this procedure, Adam will now need to be on blood thinners for the rest of his life. He is now home and stable.

On October 15, 2025 at 1:10AM Adam Fredenburg was shot in the head at an apartment in LaPorte, Indiana. He was rushed to LaPorte Hospital and quickly air lifted to South Bend Memorial.

The 9mm bullet chipped his C1 vertebrae, hit his carotid artery, and punctured his sinus cavity. So far he has suffered facial paralysis. He also has paralysis to the nerves in his throat that control his ability to swallow solid food. We will post updates of his diagnosis here. There are still many tests to be done.

Adam’s condition after a gunshot wound to the head is nothing short of a miracle. His doctors and nurses have described his survival as rare and remarkable.

It is a miracle that Adam is still here with us but he has a long road of recovery ahead. The list of medical treatments he has endured is already extensive.

We do not yet know how this situation will affect Adam’s ability to work and provide for himself and his children from this point forward. Adam has always relied on his physical strength to get him through.

This incident happened in part because Adam did not have a place or vehicle of his own and relied on the kindness of his family and friends.

Our hope with this GoFundMe page is to aid Adam with the bills and debt incurred by this horrific crime.

We hope the funds will help Adam gain the freedom he deserves after this traumatic experience. He deserves to enjoy this second chance he has been given.

We thank you all for your support and your prayers on this long road of recovery!
