To all family, friends, and kind-hearted individuals,
My name is Adam Lujan, and it is with immense sorrow and a heavy heart that I write to you. My life has been irrevocably altered—I have lost my beloved mother, Aida Ortiz Lujan, who was also my best friend. She was called to be with the Lord on Friday, August 29, 2025.
My mom was faced with many challenges throughout her life. Despite the hardships, she worked tirelessly to raise my brother and me, often juggling three jobs at once. Yet, no matter the struggles, she always managed to create joyful memories for us. She dedicated her life to us, always putting our needs first and ensuring we had everything we required.
Her work ethic was truly inspiring; she was incredibly hard-working, a quality I deeply admired in her. She continued to push through and work diligently until she fell ill.
For over 20 years, my mother battled illness, enduring an unending cycle of surgeries, hospital stays, broken bones, dialysis, diabetes, and a kidney transplant. Despite all this, she never lost her fighting spirit. Witnessing the one person who has always cared for me—my mother—experience a decline in health has been the most difficult challenge I’ve ever faced. In those moments, I made the decision to pause my own life and fully commit myself to her, taking on the role of her devoted, full-time caretaker. Carrying this responsibility has undoubtedly been difficult, but I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to support my mom.
The past three months have been spent in the hospital as she once again fought tirelessly for her life. This has placed a significant financial burden on my family. This is where I humbly turn to you. If you will please find it in your heart to support my brother and me through this difficult journey, we would forever be grateful. Your generosity would not only alleviate the financial strain we currently face but also provide us with peace of mind as we grieve and heal. May God bless all of you.
With immense heartfelt gratitude,
