My name is Isabella and this is my fiancé, Adam Scranton. We, along with our three dogs, moved to the Atlanta area from Oregon in Feb of this year. Our goal was to start a new life and be closer to our families. We were thriving, both finding jobs and even buying a little house in the country on the outskirts of Atlanta.
A week after Adam began his new job, he was involved in a horrible motor vehicle accident, leaving him with many injuries, including fractures to c5 and c6 in his vertebrae, which caused paralyzation. He underwent surgery to repair his vertebrae and thankfully regained feeling and movement in his limbs. We are told he can make a significant recovery but that it will be a very lengthy process, including inpatient and then outpatient rehab for up to a year.
I have been doing the best I can, working to pay our current bills, along with the many accrued medical bills that will continue to pile up, all on one income. I’ve sold as much as I can to help, including furniture pieces we recently bought for our new house. Although we hate to ask for help and have put it off as long as possible, we have come to realize that we won’t financially survive without it. If you feel led to and are able to help out financially, we would greatly appreciate it! If you cannot help financially at this time, we understand and would appreciate all the love, thoughts, and support you can send our way through this rehab process.
