Last Thursday, Marissa and Brett Wheeler took their 2-year-old daughter, Adalae, to the emergency room in Vernal after becoming concerned about her health. There, doctors discovered a large mass in her abdomen. Due to the seriousness of her condition, she was transported by ambulance to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.
On Friday evening, Adalae underwent emergency surgery after doctors determined that the tumor had ruptured. The mass measured approximately 6 x 11 x 13 cm. While we are still waiting for the pathology results, her surgical team believes it is likely cancer.
As you can imagine, this has been an overwhelming and heartbreaking time for Marissa and Brett. To add to their burden, the family recently moved and experienced a lapse in their medical insurance coverage. They are now facing significant medical expenses while focusing all of their energy on caring for their sweet little girl.
We are asking for your support to help ease the financial strain of medical bills, travel expenses, and other unexpected costs so that Marissa and Brett can focus on what matters most—being by Adalae's side during this difficult journey.
Every donation, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Adalae and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
We will continue to provide updates as we learn more. Thank you for your kindness, support, thoughts, and prayers.
