Action 4 Animals Hawaii has saved over 2,000 cats and dogs in the last 5 years!! The majority of the dogs we save come from County of Hawaii Animal Control, a high-kill shelter where approximately 4500 dogs are euthanized yearly, 80% of which are labelled 'adoptable'.

In 2025, A4A adopted out 140 dogs on-island and flew out 84 dogs to rescue partners on the West coast and Canada. Our PUPS OVER THE PACIFIC program has a 100% adoption rate with our fly-out dogs, thanks to our volunteers and our wonderful mainland rescues who promote our awesome dogs. Our rescue partners carefully select each dog and puppy to ensure they are a good fit for their community. Dogs are adopted within 24hrs to 2 weeks, while some are adopted before they even leave! We maintain contact with the mainland rescues and sometimes even hear from the adopters who bring our dogs into their lives and give them furever homes!!

2026 GOAL: FLY OUT 100 DOGS/PUPPIES!!!

We have a generous donor WHO WILL MATCH DONATIONS UP TO $1000 EVERY MONTH!!! WOW!! Help us reach this phenomenal goal and donate to our PUPS OVER THE PACIFIC!!

There are more dogs getting surrendered as many people are leaving the island and cannot take their pets. Our ongoing crisis of unwanted animals deepens. HELP US HELP THE ANIMALS!!
